It is about what you are comfortable with. Most of us are uncomfortable with Philosophical RCs. So, I know firsthand it would be hard for me. Identify what you are comfortable with and what topic you are uncomfortable with. Avoid such topics, which are uncomfortable for you, in the main exam.

Gauging the LOD of VARC section is little complicated as it varies across individuals. RC's are never difficult in VARC section if one is decent in english. It is the options which make the passage complicated. Based on past years trend , CAT will ask mix of moderate and difficult questions from passage. Attempt every RC and leave the questions immediately if you are unable to eliminate options or confused which one to mark.
