I have been placed in an automotive company with a decent package. Right now I am in a dilemma. Whether to look for colleges this year,  or gain some work experience and attempt cat again. Thanks in advance.

As you are a fresher with a good academic profile, it makes sense to prepare for CAT and take it again next year. With good preparation, you can easily score above 99 percentile and will have shortlists from many top MBA colleges.

I would also recommend attending interviews of any shortlisted institutes this year, just for the experience.
