Hi, I feel that I'm no where near my potential in VARC, I say this because during the mock/sectional, I'm doing VERY silly mistakes, but when I solve again, without looking at the solution, I'm able to get almost all of the question right. How do I mitigate this gap?

Hi
This is the problem almost every aspirant faces especially in VARC section, we are able to answer the questions correctly after the mock but not in mock and the only way to overcome this is to practice more tests and sectionals and properly analyze them . Try to analyze your last 3 4 mocks , search for patterns in the mistakes you are making for example there might be some questions where you are missing information in passage or else you might be facing issues in critical reasoning questions try to identify them and work on them accordingly, or you might be facing in tone based questions , identify those and work upon them . Also while analyzing try to figure out what is given in explanation why is this the correct answer , try to go through video solutions as well for the passages you could not understand during the mock . The key is to analyze your mistakes and avoid repeating them especially in VARC because in this section you will attempt more number of questions as compared to QA and LRDI and you have to be cautious of your accuracy as well.
