Let the total number of votes polled be 'x'
Votes to be received by Sonia = 0.8x
Votes received by Sonia = 0.9*0.8x
Votes to be received by Sushma = 0.2x
Votes received by Sonia = 0.8*0.2x
It is given,
0.9*0.8x = 216
x = 300
Total number of votes polled = 300
