For finding if the set of three linear equations (each with three variables) have a consistent solution, the method that is being followed is the Discriminant method - some matrics method - i am a NE from humanities background - finding it difficult to grasp - is there any alternate method? For e.g. this question (below): For what values of p does the following equations have consistent set of infinite solutions: x + 2y + 3z = -2 4x + 5y - 6z = 4 6x + 8y - mz = p
