Let Bala takes x hours to reach after crossing each other. So Anand takes x+5 hours36 = x*(x+5)x^2+5x -36 = 0x = -9, 4x can't be negative so x = 4. So Anand takes 9 hours.  Sum = 9+4 =13 Hrs.
