Hi Vamsi,
Let the work to be completed be 30 units. So A does 3 units of work in a day and B does 2 units of work in a day. They work together for x days, so they will finish (3+2)*x =5x units of work. Now only 30-5x units of work is left and A finishes it in 5 days . So 30 - 5x = 15 => x = 3
So they work together for 3 days and then A works alone for 5 days. Hence total number of days = 3+5 =8
