A buys a vehicle at Rs x. After using it for some time, he sells it to B at a loss of 20%. B does some repairing work on it costing him Rs y. He then uses it for some time, and then sells it to C at a loss of 30%. C does some maintenance work on the vehicle costing him Rs y. He used the vehicle for some time, and then he sold it to D at a loss of 40%. If the selling price of B is greater than the cost price of D by Rs 1000 and the selling price of A is greater than the cost price of C by Rs 500, what is the ratio x:y...Hi Team, in the above sum.shouldnt we add the maintenance charge occured for a car to the total CP??

while calculating the SP, it is added ..but not considered as part of total CP.
