Hi Raghav Singla,
The question is asking to find the minimum number of citizens of Melhi who own at least one of three brands of Laptop.
From the Venn diagram and the values of citizens who own XP, Nell and Benovo we can infer that -
The number of people who own XP = 36 thousand, Nel = 29,000 and Benovo = 29,000
Therefore, we need to find the minimum number of citizens who own at least one of three brands of laptop and that will be the minimum value of
l +m + p = 17000 (36-19 =17)
m + n +q = 10000Â (29-19 = 10)
p + q + o = 10000Â (29 - 19 = 10)
Adding all three we get,
(l + n + o) + 2*(m + p + q) = 37000
We need to calculate the minimum value of l+m+n+o+p+q+19, that will be when l+n+0 will be zero. In that case, m+p+q will be the maximum, and we need to maximise m+p+q because it is multiplied by 2, and thus the overall value of l+m+n+o+p+q+19 will be less.
So, m + p + q = 18500
So, required answer = 18500 + 19000 = 37500
Hence, option B is the right answer.
I hope this helps!
