SNAP Syllabus 2026

If you are aiming for one of the highly sought-after MBA seats at Symbiosis - whether at SIBM Pune, SCMHRD, or SIIB - the first step is to clearly understand the SNAP 2026 syllabus. Many aspirants assume that SNAP is an easy version of CAT, but that is a common misconception. SNAP Exam has its own structure, focus areas, and preparation strategy.

SNAP has its own personality. It is a speed based exam and punishes time mismanagement far more brutally than most other MBA entrance tests.

What's really interesting about SNAP, though, is how it rewards smart prioritising over just plain old knowledge. Knowing which questions to go for and when to move on is a big part of getting the job done.

SNAP Syllabus 2026 PDF

Symbiosis International University puts out the SNAP syllabus PDF every year and you can grab it straight from their exam portal at snaptest.org. Now, SIU is not the kind of exam body that hands you a neat, topic-by-topic breakdown. What they give you is broad, and honestly, that has been the case for years. The structure has not changed much, so if you have been following the exam for a while, nothing will surprise you there. That said, do not skip downloading the official notification PDF the moment registrations go live. Based on past patterns, that is likely to happen sometime in the first week of August 2026. Once you have it, sit with it alongside a few previous year question papers.

Section-Wise SNAP Syllabus 2026

SNAP 2026 is divided into three sections and here is all that each one covers based on previous papers!

General English (15 Questions | 15 Marks)

This section is essentially a mix of grammar, sentence correction, idioms and vocabulary. The one thing that keeps aspirants guessing is the RC passages. Some years they show up, some years they simply do not and there is no real pattern to it. What you can count on, though, is grammar and vocabulary. Those have been a constant across almost every SNAP paper, so whatever else you skip, do not skip these two.

Topic Category

Topics Covered

Vocabulary

Synonyms, Antonyms, One-Word Substitutions

Grammar

Sentence Correction, Fill in the Blanks

Verbal Reasoning

Analogies, Odd One Out, Idioms

Para-based

Para-jumbles, Sentence Completion

Reading

Reading Comprehension (appears inconsistently)

Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency (20 Questions | 20 Marks)

Yes, this section covers a lot of ground, but do not let that intimidate you. The questions themselves are not particularly hard. If you have been putting efforts in CAT prep, you will notice the difficulty feels a few notches lower here. What catches people off guard is not the content but the clock. Sixty minutes for the entire paper has a way of making even straightforward Quant questions feel rushed, so speed is really where the real work needs to happen.

Sub-Area

Topics Covered

Arithmetic

Percentages, Profit and Loss, Time-Speed-Distance, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Simple and Compound Interest

Algebra

Linear and Quadratic Equations, Progressions, Inequalities, Surds Indices.

Geometry and Trigonometry

Trigonometry, Mensuration, Coordinate Geometry, Heights and distance.

Number Systems

LCM-HCF, Remainders, Factors, Unit digit, Base system.

Data Interpretation

Bar Graphs, Pie Charts, Line Graphs, Tables, Venn Diagrams

Analytical and Logical Reasoning (25 Questions | 25 Marks)

This is the largest section and also considered the most scoring. Questions from clocks and calendars also appear with reasonable frequency.

Topic Category

Topics Covered

Arrangement-Based

Linear Arrangements, Matrix Arrangements, Seating Puzzles

Reasoning

Syllogisms, Statement and Conclusion, Cause and Effect

Coding

Coding and Decoding, Symbol-Based Problems

Relations

Blood Relations, Family Tree Questions.

Series

Number/Letter Series, Missing Sequences.

One practical point worth noting is that because there is no sectional time limit, you can move between sections freely. This is an advantage most aspirants underuse. If you hit a rough patch in Quant, shift to LR, build momentum, and return. Smart navigation can meaningfully improve your score.

SNAP Syllabus 2026 Important Topics

Based on previous years' question paper trends, these are the topics that show up most consistently and should be non-negotiables to miss in your preparation.

Section

High-Priority Topics

General English

Vocabulary (Antonyms and Synonyms), Sentence Correction, Grammar.

Quantitative Ability

Percentages, Time-Speed-Distance, Profit and Loss, Triangles, Heights & Distance, DI (Pie and Bar Charts).

Logical Reasoning

Clocks & Calendars, Coding-Decoding, Blood Relations, Syllogisms, Number Series.

The LR section rewards aspirants who are comfortable with puzzles and arrangements. These questions look intimidating but are highly solvable once you have seen enough variations. The volume of practice matters enormously here.

SNAP 2026 Preparation Tips

The first thing worth doing is going back to basics and plugging any gaps you have been ignoring. A lot of SNAP aspirants are also in the middle of CAT prep, and if that is you, good news, your Quant and Verbal groundwork will not go to waste here. The concepts overlap quite a bit and SNAP tends to test them at a friendlier difficulty level. But here is the thing, easier questions do not automatically mean better scores. Everyone finds them easier, which means the margin comes down to who is faster. So from the very first day you sit down to practice, do it with a timer running. Getting comfortable under pressure is a skill in itself and it takes longer to build than most people expect.

Preparation Area

Key Advice

Mock Tests

Take at least 2 to 3 full-length mocks per week in the final two months

English Section

Do not treat it as an afterthought. With only 15 questions, each wrong answer hurts

Logical Reasoning

Prioritise this section. 25 questions at an easy-moderate level means maximum scoring opportunity

Quant

CAT preparation covers 90% of SNAP Quants. Focus on speed rather than difficulty.

Time Management

Practice moving between sections freely since there is no sectional time cap

Going by past trends, SNAP 2026 should land sometime in December, with registrations most likely kicking off around August. That gives you a decent runway, but it goes faster than you think. The worst thing you can do is treat the early months as buffer time and scramble later. Pick up all three sections from the start, give each one its fair share of attention, and keep at it consistently. Students who go into SNAP well prepared almost always have a smoother exam day experience than those who banked everything on one strong section.
