Pascal's Identity

## Formula

$${}^nC_r+{}^nC_{r-1}={}^{n+1}C_r$$

## Usage

- Used to establish relationships between consecutive rows of binomial coefficients.

Question 1

What is the coefficient of $$x^{50}$$ in the expansion of the polynomial

 $$P(x)=(1+x)^{1000}+2x(1+x)^{999}+3x^2(1+x)^{998}+\dots+1001x^{1000}$$

Question 2

Let the coefficient of $$x^r$$ in the algebraic expansion of the binomial expression $$(1 + x)^n$$ be denoted by $$C_r$$. Evaluate the value of the given expression:

$$\sum_{r=0}^{n-2} \frac{C_r}{C_r + 2C_{r+1} + C_{r+2}}$$
