RMO 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Students cannot enter RMO 2026 through direct open registration. They must qualify through IOQM 2026 under HBCSE's selection criteria. Candidates need at least 10% of the total IOQM marks for consideration. But the minimum score does not guarantee RMO qualification. Category A covers Classes 8 to 11. Category B covers students enrolled in Class 12.
Each region selects the top 200 Category A candidates, including ties at position 200. Each region also selects the top 40 Category B candidates, including ties at position 40. 5 additional Category A girls qualify under the Girls' quota, including ties at 5th place. RMO Syllabus 2026
RMO preparation focuses mainly on Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, and Combinatorics. HBCSE also expects familiarity with NCERT Mathematics from Classes 8 to 10.
