IOQM 2026 Registration Process

IOQM 2026 registration has closed, but the application process uses two enrollment routes. Students register through an approved center or use individual online enrollment during the notified window. The fee is ₹180 for KV and JNV students. Students from other schools pay ₹300.

Candidates check eligibility before entering their details and selecting an available examination centre. They upload a recent photograph, current-school proof, and valid date-of-birth proof. Photograph files require a 10 KB to 100 KB size range. School and birth proofs require 50 KB to 250 KB files. The table below shows the main registration steps and the action required at each stage.

IOQM 2026 Eligibility Criteria

IOQM 2026 eligibility criteria cover students studying in Classes 8, 9, 10, 11, or 12. Candidates must be born between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2014. Students must also be eligible to hold an Indian passport. OCI cardholders receive provisional eligibility subject to the specified restrictions.

Candidates must meet the residence or Indian-school-system condition dating from October 30, 2024. They cannot pass or be scheduled for Class 12 boards before October 30, 2026. They also cannot begin university-level study by June 1, 2027. The table below summarises the eligibility conditions candidates must satisfy for IOQM 2026.

University condition

University or equivalent studies must not begin by June 1, 2027

IOQM Exam Pattern 2026

IOQM exam pattern 2026 uses a 3 hour offline paper with 30 integer-answer questions. Each answer is a single-digit or two-digit number. Students mark these answers on a machine-readable OMR response sheet. IOQM 2026 has no negative marking.

Candidates should solve each problem before recording the numerical answer carefully on the OMR sheet. Previous papers help students understand actual problem styles and manage the three-hour duration. The IOQM Previous Year Papers provide suitable material for timed practice. The table below shows the IOQM 2026 exam format students need to prepare for.

IOQM Syllabus 2026

IOQM syllabus 2026 focuses mainly on Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory, and Combinatorics. Students also need strong foundations in school-level Mathematics. IOQM problems test reasoning and application rather than direct formula recall. Candidates can check IOQM Syllabus 2026 for complete topic scope before revising.

Algebra covers equations, inequalities, polynomials, sequences, and functional equations. Geometry, Number Theory, and Combinatorics contain several problem-solving topics. Candidates can use IOQM Important Topics 2026 to identify areas that need more revision. The table below organizes the IOQM syllabus into its main mathematical areas.

Mathematical Area

Main Topics

Algebra

Inequalities, progressions, equations, polynomials, indices, sequences, functional equations

Geometry

Triangles, quadrilaterals, circles, Euclidean constructions, coordinate geometry, trigonometric applications

Number Theory

Divisibility, primes, Euclidean algorithm, congruences, Diophantine equations, Pythagorean triples

Combinatorics

Basic enumeration, pigeonhole principle, recursion, elementary graph theory

Foundational Mathematics

Core concepts from Class 8, 9, and 10 mathematics

IOQM Preparation Strategy 2026

IOQM preparation strategy 2026 should now focus on revision, timed papers, and error analysis. Candidates should identify weak areas before attempting a recent paper under the full three-hour limit. The IOQM Last-Minute Preparation Strategy 2026 resource provides additional guidance for the remaining preparation period.

Candidates should avoid starting large new topics close to the examination. They should revise recurring errors and practise accurate OMR marking. Classes 8 to 10 needing broader Mathematics concept support can use the JEE Foundation Course alongside IOQM-specific resources. The table below turns this preparation approach into a practical sequence for IOQM 2026.

Preparation Focus

What to Do

Syllabus check

Mark completed topics and identify remaining weak areas

Core-topic revision

Revisit methods behind repeated errors instead of rereading everything

Previous-paper practice

Solve a recent IOQM paper without checking solutions during the attempt

Timed practice

Complete a full paper within the official three-hour duration

Error analysis

Classify wrong, unattempted, and time-consuming questions after each paper

OMR practice

Record numerical answers carefully without shifting question numbers

Final revision

Review recurring errors and check examination instructions on the hall ticket

IOQM 2026: Conclusion

IOQM 2026 will be conducted on September 6, 2026, as the first stage of the Mathematical Olympiad programme. Since registration has closed and hall tickets are available, candidates should check their exam details and focus on the IOQM syllabus, exam pattern and final revision.

Students should prioritise Algebra, Geometry, Number Theory and Combinatorics while solving previous-year papers under the official three-hour limit. Regular error analysis, careful OMR practice and revision of frequently missed concepts can improve accuracy, time management and confidence on exam day.
