IIM Calcutta uses different composite score components at the shortlisting and final admission stages. The pre-PI composite score is calculated out of 85 points and is used to shortlist candidates for PI and WAT. After the interview and WAT, the final composite score is calculated out of 100 points using PI, CAT score, WAT, work experience and academic diversity.

The CAT scaled score carries the highest weightage at 56 points, followed by Class 12th marks at 15 points and Class 10th marks at 10 points. Gender diversity adds up to 4 points for eligible female and transgender candidates.

IIM Calcutta WAT/ PI: Category-wise Candidates Shortlisted
IIM Calcutta reported 2,215 candidates called for WAT and PI for the MBA 2026–28 batch. The shortlist was based on the pre-interview composite score rather than a separately reported CAT percentile.
The Open category had the largest number of calls at 957, while 254 ST candidates were called for the WAT and PI process.

The gap between the minimum cutoff and the highest composite score gives a clearer picture of the score range among shortlisted candidates.

For the Open category, the reported composite score ranged from 52.662 to 64.969 between the cutoff and the highest shortlisted score. NC-OBC candidates reached a slightly higher maximum of 64.747, while the highest reported ST score was 62.262.
The difference is also visible in the reserved categories. The ST shortlist cutoff was 34.210, but the highest reported score in the same category was 62.262. Therefore, the cutoff represents the lower end of the reported shortlist, not a score that describes every candidate called for WAT and PI.

IIM Calcutta Final Admission Offers 2026
IIM Calcutta Final Admission Offers are based on candidates' performance in the CAT exam, Personal Interview (PI), Written Ability Test (WAT), work experience and academic diversity. For the MBA 2026–28 batch, the institute uses a final composite score out of 100 points to prepare the admission merit list. Candidates who meet the selection requirements receive admission offers based on their composite scores and category-wise seat availability.

The IIM Calcutta final admission stage shows another set of composite scores. Unlike the WAT/PI shortlist, these scores are reported out of 100 and represent candidates who received admission offers.
