Tangent Perpendicular to a Given Line

If a line has slope $$m$$, a perpendicular tangent has slope:

$$-\frac1m$$

Hence for:

$$y^2=4ax$$

the corresponding tangent is:

$$y=-\frac{x}{m}-am$$

Usage

- Used when the tangent is required to be perpendicular to a given line.
