## Formula

If:

$$z_1=a+ib,\qquad z_2=c+id$$

then:

$$z_1+z_2=(a+c)+i(b+d)$$

$$z_1-z_2=(a-c)+i(b-d)$$

## Conditions / Special Cases

Real parts are added or subtracted separately, and imaginary parts are added or subtracted separately.
