Complex Conjugate

Rarely Tested

For $$z = x + iy$$, the conjugate is $$\bar{z} = x - iy$$.

Conjugation reflects $$z$$ across the real axis in the complex plane.

Question 1

Let $$z = 1 + i$$. Define a new complex number $$z_1$$ as follows:

$$z_1 = \frac{1 + i\bar{z}}{\bar{z}(1 - z) + \frac{1}{z}}$$

Then the value of $$\frac{12}{\pi} \arg(z_1)$$ is equal to:
