Euler's Formula

Rarely Tested

$$e^{i\theta} = \cos \theta + i \sin \theta$$.

Thus, $$z = |z| e^{i\theta}$$.

Question 1

Let $$z_1, z_2, z_3$$ be three distinct complex numbers representing the vertices of an equilateral triangle inscribed in the circle $$\vert z \vert = 2$$ in the complex plane, arranged in a counter-clockwise orientation. A transformation is applied to this triangle such that vertex $$z_1$$ is rotated counter-clockwise by an angle of $$\frac{\pi}{3}$$ about the origin to form a new point $$w_1$$. Vertex $$z_2$$ is shifted along the ray connecting the origin to $$z_2$$ to double its distance from the origin, forming a new point $$w_2$$. Vertex $$z_3$$ remains unchanged, so $$w_3 = z_3$$. If the complex number representing the center of mass of the newly formed triangle with vertices $$w_1, w_2, w_3$$ is denoted by $$z_0$$, find the value of the expression $$\vert z_0 \vert \cdot \vert z_1 + 2z_2 + 3z_3 \vert^2$$.
