CSAB Counselling Registration 2026, Dates & Eligibility Criteria

CSAB Counselling Registration 2026 will begin on July 28, 2026, at 10:00 AM for candidates seeking admission to vacant seats in NITs, IIITs, IIEST Shibpur, SPAs and other Government Funded Technical Institutes. CSAB Special Rounds are conducted after the five JoSAA rounds and do not include seats in IITs. Two CSAB Special Rounds will be held for the 2026 admission cycle.

Candidates who participated in JoSAA must remember that CSAB is a separate counselling process. Fresh registration, fee payment and choice filling are compulsory. Choices submitted during JoSAA will not be carried forward to CSAB Special Rounds 2026.

CSAB Counselling Registration 2026

The CSAB Counselling Registration 2026 process will be conducted online through the official CSAB portal. Registration, payment of the Special Round Enrolment Fee and choice filling will start together on July 28. The registration and fee-payment window will close on August 3, 2026, at 10:00 AM, while candidates can continue editing and locking their saved choices until August 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

Candidates should complete the payment before the deadline instead of waiting until the final hour. The payment-issue resolution facility is available only for candidates who attempted payment before the deadline but could not complete the transaction. The resolution deadline is August 4 at 5:00 PM.

Registration alone does not make a candidate eligible for allotment. Candidates must successfully pay the applicable fee and save at least one institute-programme choice.

CSAB 2026 Registration Dates and Schedule

The following schedule is based on the official CSAB Special Rounds 2026 Information Brochure and is also reflected in Cracku’s updated CSAB registration and schedule pages.

The mock allotment will be prepared using choices saved by candidates up to July 30 at 5:00 PM. It is only an indicative allotment and does not guarantee the same seat in Round 1. Candidates should use it to review whether their preference list is too narrow or incorrectly ordered.

CSAB Counselling 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must have a valid JEE Main 2026 rank and satisfy the eligibility requirements for admission to the NIT+ System. Paper 1 ranks are used for B.E. and B.Tech programmes, Paper 2A for B.Arch and Paper 2B for B.Planning. Each institute or programme may also have additional eligibility conditions or course restrictions.

Candidates who did not register for JoSAA, were not allotted a seat, validly exited or withdrew, lost their seat because of non-payment, or retained an NIT+ seat after paying SAF and PAF may participate, subject to the official eligibility conditions.

A candidate retaining a JoSAA NIT+ seat can participate in CSAB. However, if a new seat is allotted in CSAB, the retained JoSAA seat will be cancelled automatically. Therefore, such candidates should place only genuinely preferred options above their existing seat.

Documents Required for CSAB Registration 2026

Candidates should keep the following documents ready for registration, online reporting and document verification:

1. Class 10 marksheet, certificate, Aadhaar card or birth certificate for date-of-birth verification
2. Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate
3. JEE Main 2026 admit card
4. SC, ST, OBC-NCL or GEN-EWS certificate, if applicable
5. PwD or writing-difficulty certificate, if applicable
6. Crossed bank cheque copy or passbook image containing bank account details
7. Medical certificate in the prescribed CSAB format
8. OCI or PIO card, if applicable
9. Passport or citizenship certificate, if applicable

OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS certificates must have been issued on or after April 1, 2026. Documents that are not in English or Hindi must be accompanied by a duly certified English or Hindi translation.

Candidates should also keep their JEE Main application number, password, active mobile number and email address accessible. The bank details entered on the portal should be checked carefully because any applicable refund will be processed using the submitted account information.

How to Register for CSAB Counselling 2026

Visit the official CSAB website and open the DASA UG and CSAB Special Rounds 2026 counselling portal. Log in using the required JEE Main 2026 credentials and complete fresh registration. JoSAA registration is not valid for CSAB.

Verify the displayed name, category, gender, state of eligibility, nationality and JEE Main details. Enter the required contact and bank information, accept the declarations and pay the Special Round Enrolment Fee.

After successful payment, open the choice-filling page. Select eligible colleges and branches, arrange them in preference order and save the list frequently. Candidates can add, delete or reorder choices until the locking deadline. Download the payment receipt, registration confirmation and final locked-choice list for future reference.

CSAB 2026 Registration Fee and Payment Process

The Special Round Enrolment Fee includes the Institute Admission Fee-I and a non-refundable Special Round Processing Fee of ₹5,000.

The fee can be paid through debit card, credit card, UPI, net banking, e-challan or CSC, depending on the options available on the portal. Candidates who have already paid applicable fees during JoSAA may be asked to pay only the adjusted difference shown in their login. The ₹5,000 processing fee is non-refundable and non-adjustable.

Important Instructions for CSAB Choice Filling and Registration

JoSAA choices become null and void for CSAB, so every candidate must create a fresh list. Choices should always be arranged according to actual preference, not according to the probability of admission. Placing an ambitious option first does not reduce the chance of receiving a lower option if the higher option is unavailable.  Candidates should not ignore a preferred branch merely because the initial vacancy matrix shows zero seats. The official brochure states that all eligible programmes may be displayed irrespective of vacancy status, and additional seats may become available later because of upgrades, withdrawals or cancellations.
