Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) UG 2026 is an admission process for foreign nationals, NRIs and eligible OCI/PIO candidates. Through DASA counselling, students can apply for undergraduate engineering, architecture and planning courses offered by participating institutes. Seat allotment is based on the candidate’s JEE Main 2026 rank.

DASA Seat Matrix 2026
The revised DASA Seat Matrix 2026 was published for the 2026–27 academic year. It was last updated on July 28, 2026. The matrix includes seats offered by NITs, IIITs, IIEST, Schools of Planning and Architecture and several other participating institutes.
The official seat matrix is 53 pages long. It provides the following details:
- Institute code
- Institute name
- Programme name
- Degree
- Seat quota
- Number of seats
According to the revised matrix, there are 6,194 seats across 88 participating institutes. These seats are divided between the DASA-CIWG and DASA-Non-CIWG quotas.

DASA 2026 Seat Matrix for NITs, IIITs, and Other Institutes
The DASA 2026 seat matrix includes three main groups of institutes: NITs and IIEST, IIITs and other participating institutes.
NITs and IIEST have the highest number of seats in the revised matrix. They are followed by other participating institutes and IIITs.

The NITs and IIEST offer courses such as Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Some institutes also offer Architecture and Planning programmes.
The IIITs mainly offer courses related to computer science, information technology, electronics and other emerging technology fields.
The other participating institutes include Schools of Planning and Architecture, central universities, state universities, government-funded institutes, maritime university campuses and other technical institutes. Depending on the institute, students can find BTech, BArch, BPlanning, integrated and dual-degree programmes.
Candidates should check the course name, institute code, degree duration and quota before adding a choice. Courses with similar names may have different codes, durations or eligibility requirements.
Category-wise Seat Distribution in DASA Counselling 2026
DASA counselling does not offer SC, ST, OBC-NCL, GEN-EWS or PwD reservations. The main reserved quota available under DASA is for Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries, commonly known as CIWG.
Female supernumerary seats are also not available under DASA UG 2026. Eligible female candidates can get the benefit of female supernumerary seats only through CSAB Special Rounds.

DASA-CIWG seats are available to eligible NRI candidates whose parent or parents work in specified Gulf countries. Candidates must meet all the conditions and submit the required documents to claim CIWG eligibility.
Having OCI or PIO status alone does not make a candidate eligible for CIWG seats.
Candidates eligible for CIWG seats may also apply for DASA general or Non-CIWG seats after paying the applicable DASA Non-SAARC initial fee. In that case, both CIWG and Non-CIWG options may be displayed during choice filling.

How to Use the DASA Seat Matrix During Choice Filling
The DASA seat matrix can help candidates prepare a suitable choice list. First, candidates should check whether they are eligible for CIWG seats, Non-CIWG seats or both. They can then shortlist the institutes and courses available under their quota.

Candidates should place their most preferred course and institute at the top. A less preferred course should not be placed above a course that the candidate genuinely wants to join.

Important Changes in the DASA Seat Matrix 2026
The official website identifies the July 28 document as the Revised UG Seat Matrix DASA 2026. Candidates who used an older version should check their choices again using the revised matrix.
DASA 2026 and CSAB Special Rounds 2026 are being conducted through a combined system. This arrangement was first introduced in 2025 and continues for the 2026 admission process.
Candidates must complete fresh registration for DASA 2026. The process includes registration, fee payment, document upload, document verification, choice filling, choice locking and seat allotment. DASA counselling will have two seat-allocation rounds.
The combined process also provides a single choice list for eligible candidates participating in both DASA and CSAB Special counselling.
Candidates should regularly check the official website for updates before locking their choices. The authorities may publish revised notices, course restrictions or counselling instructions.
The number of seats shown in the DASA Seat Matrix 2026 represents the seats listed by the authorities. It does not mean that every seat will remain available at the time of allotment.
