The CSAB Special Round 1 Result 2026 has been released. If you have not been allotted a seat, do not panic or assume that your CSAB counselling journey is over. Eligible candidates can still be considered for seat allotment in CSAB Special Round 2.
No seat allotment in Round 1 simply means that a seat was not available for you based on your JEE Main rank, category, gender, state of eligibility, locked choices and the available vacancies in that round.
If you want to participate in Round 2, do not select the Exit option. You do not need to pay IAF-II, upload documents or select Freeze, Float, Slide or Surrender when no seat has been allotted. Your locked choices will automatically be considered in Round 2, provided you remain eligible.
What to Do If No Seat Is Allotted in CSAB Round 1 2026?
If your Round 1 result shows “No Seat Allotted,” you do not need to complete online reporting for Round 1. You only need to stay in the counselling process and wait for the Round 2 result.
Here is what you should do:
- Do not select the Exit option if you want to participate in Round 2.
- Do not worry about Freeze, Float, Slide or Surrender because these options apply to candidates who receive a seat.
- You do not need to upload documents or pay Institute Admission Fee-II in Round 1.
- Keep your CSAB login credentials safe and check the candidate portal regularly.
- Keep all required documents ready in case you receive a fresh allotment in Round 2.
- Do not wait until the last few hours to complete online reporting if a seat is allotted in Round 2.

Your CSAB choices cannot be changed before Round 2. The choices saved and locked during the choice-filling period will be used for the final allotment.
If you had already secured an NIT+ seat through JoSAA and paid the applicable PAF, that seat remains safe when no new seat is allotted in CSAB Round 1. However, if you receive a new seat in CSAB Round 2, your previously retained JoSAA seat will automatically be cancelled.

Why You Still Have a Good Chance in CSAB Round 2
Not receiving a seat in Round 1 does not mean you have no chance in Round 2. Additional seats may become available after the Round 1 reporting process is completed.
Seats may become available in Round 2 for the following reasons:

Should You Exit CSAB Counselling After Round 1?
No, you should not select Exit if you still want to be considered for CSAB Round 2.
The Exit option is meant for candidates who have not received a seat and do not wish to participate in any further CSAB Special Round. Once Exit is selected and confirmed, the candidate leaves the CSAB seat allocation process and will not be considered for Round 2.

Documents Required for CSAB Round 2 2026
Candidates with no seat in Round 1 do not need to upload documents immediately. However, those who receive their first seat in Round 2 must upload the applicable documents and complete online reporting within the short reporting window.
Keep clear scanned copies of the following documents ready:
- Class 10 marksheet, certificate, Aadhaar card or birth certificate as proof of date of birth
- Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate
- JEE Main 2026 admit card
- SC, ST, OBC-NCL or GEN-EWS certificate, if applicable
- PwD certificate or UDID card, if applicable
- Certificate for candidates with less than 40% disability and difficulty in writing, if applicable
- Crossed bank cheque or passbook image containing bank account details
- Medical certificate in the prescribed CSAB format
- OCI certificate or PIO card, if applicable
- Passport or citizenship certificate, if applicable
OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2026. Candidates should use the prescribed Government of India formats available on the official JoSAA or CSAB website.
If a document is not in English or Hindi, candidates may need a certified English or Hindi translation. Keep the original documents ready because the allotted institute will verify them again during physical reporting.
CSAB Round 2 Important Dates and Online Reporting Schedule
The CSAB Special Round 2 Result 2026 will be released on August 12, 2026, at 5:00 PM. Candidates receiving their first seat in Round 2 must complete all mandatory reporting activities before the deadline.

Round 2 is the final CSAB Special Round. All Round 2 allotments are treated as accepted with the Freeze option. Candidates receiving a fresh allotment must upload documents, pay the applicable IAF-II and respond to verification queries within the specified deadlines.
