From then on, IIM Ahmedabad continued its journey as the top-ranked college. However, the recent QS Rankings and FT rankings at the global level placed IIM Bangalore at #52 and #21, respectively.

How to Check NIRF Ranking 2026?
Once the NIRF Ranking 2026 is released, candidates can check the Management ranking through the official NIRF website.
The process is straightforward:
- Visit the official NIRF website.
- Open the India Rankings 2026 section.
- Select the Management category.
- Check the ranking list and institute-wise scores.
- Open an institute's details to examine its performance across the ranking parameters.
The official NIRF website publishes more than just the final rank. The institute-level information also helps readers understand why one college has moved ahead of another. This is useful when two B-schools appear close in the overall ranking but have very different strengths.
For example, an institute may gain from teaching resources while another may perform better in research or perception. Looking only at the final rank can hide that difference.
How are Colleges Ranked in NIRF Rankings?
NIRF does not rank management institutes on a single factor such as placements, fees or reputation. The final score is built using five broad parameters.
Parameter | Weightage |
Teaching, Learning & Resources (TLR) | 30% |
Research, Professional Practice & Collaborative Performance (RPC) | 30% |
Graduation Outcomes (GO) | 15% |
Outreach and Inclusivity (OI) | 15% |
Perception (PR) | 10% |

NIRF Ranking 2026: Conclusion
The NIRF Ranking 2026 could be one of the more interesting editions for MBA aspirants because the top of the Management table is already tightly packed.
IIM Ahmedabad enters the race with a remarkable six-year run at Rank 1. A seventh consecutive top position would further strengthen its dominance in the NIRF Management category. But IIM Bangalore is close enough for the result to feel genuinely open rather than predetermined.
IIM Kozhikode is another institute worth watching. Behind the top three, IIM Lucknow, IIM Mumbai and IIM Calcutta are separated by such a narrow margin that movement among them would not be surprising.
For aspirants, however, the final NIRF ranking depends on academic resources, research, outcomes, inclusivity and perception. Your college decision should also consider programme fit, fees, placements, roles, location, batch profile and long-term career goals.
