IIT Bombay has its own brand of MBA education for a 2-year full-time program through the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management (SJMSOM). IIT Bombay MBA Eligibility Criteria 2025
To be eligible for the IIT Bombay MBA program, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Academic Qualification: A bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification with a minimum of 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PWD category) or a minimum CPI of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST/PWD category).
- CAT Score: A valid score in the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the IIMs.

Work Experience (Optional)
- Only full-time paid work experience after graduation will be taken into consideration.
- Work experience at Coaching Center or Self Proprietorship small firms (like Retail stores etc.) will not be considered for evaluation.
- Work experience of more than or equal to 15 days in a month should be counted as 1 month and for less than 15 days, it should be counted 0.
- Currently employed candidates should consider the experience period up to Dec 31, 2024.
- If the candidate has worked in more than 5 organizations, the candidate can enter the most recent organization details. The total duration may be edited to reflect the actual number of months of relevant work experience

IIT Bombay MBA Application Process 2025
After announcing the CAT result for 2024, the authority will announce the form for the IIT Bombay MBA 2025. The form submission deadline for IIT Bombay MBA will fall in the last week of January 2025. The steps for filling out the application form for IIT Bombay MBA are as follows:
Step 1: Go to official SJMSOM website.
Step 2: Now go to the 'MBA Admission' link and Click on the "Click Here to Apply Online" link on the MBA online application page.
Step 3: Click on the "New User? Click here to Register" link provided.
Step 4: Now enter an e-mail id (will be used for login purposes) and click on the "Register".
Step 5: Then, start filling up all details and submit the application form. The registration process will be completed only after the personal details are successfully submitted. Details to enter are:

IIT Bombay MBA Shortlisting Criteria
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are shortlisted for the Personal Interview (PI) round based on their CAT score and academic performance. There is no definite Cutoff as such, they have their own criteria which is most likely based on merit only.
IIT Bombay MBA Personal Interview (PI)
The PI round is the final stage of the selection process. It assesses the candidate's personality, communication skills, analytical abilities, and overall suitability for the program. The PI panel typically consists of faculty members and industry experts.
The final merit list after PI is prepared based on 42.5% CAT overall percentile score, 42.5% based on personal interaction, while the rest 15% is awarded on candidate's profile.

IIT Bombay MBA Selection Process 2025
The selection process for the candidates admitting for MBA 2025-27 batch is in two phases.
