- Stage 1 - Shortlisting for Personal Interview (PI)

Stage 1 - Short-listing for Personal Interview - One of the requirements for admission is attending the PI. Based on CAT 2024 results, prior academic standing, and further factors given below, the candidates are shortlisted for PI. To be considered for PI shortlisting, applicants must have the minimal CAT 2024 percentile, as indicated in (ref. Table 1).

Candidates who meet the minimum CAT 2024 percentile eligibility requirement will be shortlisted for the PI based on their total CAT 2024 scaled score out of 20 plus their Application Rating (AR). All female applicants' Gender Diversity Factor (GDF) scores will be increased by four points.
In addition to professional qualifications and work experience, the application rating takes into account the applicant's academic performance (marks or grade points obtained) at different stages of academic progression, including secondary (10th/matriculation), higher secondary (12th/intermediate), undergraduate (bachelor's degree), and postgraduate (master's degree, if any).

Only a few professional degrees are taken into consideration: the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India's CA, the Institute of Company Secretaries of India's CS, the Institute of Cost Accountants of India's CMA, the CFA Institute of the United States' CFA, and the Global Association of Risk Professionals' FRM.
Candidates with a two-year MTech, ME, MS, or M.Pharm degree will receive an extra point. Professionally qualified applicants will receive an extra mark as well. So, in all they can score two extra marks if they fulfill both the criteria.

IIT Kharagpur MBA Final Selection Criteria
Stage 2 -The ultimate selection in the second stage of the MBA admissions process will be determined by the candidate's performance in the online PI process, CAT 2022, and the cumulative application rating (AR) score. For GDF, all female applicants will receive ten points. Nevertheless, the PI is 40 and the application rating is 20 overall.

IIT Kharagpur MBA Eligibility Criteria 2025
The following requirements must be met by applicants to the MBA program:
- A candidate must have one or more of the following:
A bachelor's degree in engineering, technology, or pharmacy of at least four years duration
OR
A master's degree in science, economics, or commerce (with a bachelor's degree in statistics or mathematics)
2. Minimum qualifying grades for particular degrees:
A minimum of 60% in general, EWS, or OBC classes, or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale
SC/ST/PWD: At least 55% of the possible points (or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10-point scale).
- Applications are also accepted from candidates who have finished the requirements for their degree but are awaiting results, as well as those who are taking their final year of qualifying degree exams. If chosen, these candidates will only be admitted provisionally to the program. By May 31, 2025, the provisionally approved candidates must submit the certificate from their university, college, or institute attesting to the fact that they have fulfilled all prerequisites for earning a bachelor's or master's degree, as appropriate.
- Candidates need to be healthy. The Institute's Medical Officer's judgment will be decisive if there is any inconsistency in the certificate of medical fitness that was submitted upon registration.
- PWD applicants must appear before a medical board at IIT Kharagpur by October 31, 2025, at the latest, in order to be admitted to the MBA program. The candidate will be bound by the Medical Board's decision, which is final.
