Auxiliary Circle

For the hyperbola:

$$\frac{x^2}{a^2}-\frac{y^2}{b^2}=1$$

the auxiliary circle is:

$$x^2+y^2=a^2$$

Terminology

- Auxiliary circle → Circle associated with the hyperbola having radius equal to its semi-transverse axis.

Usage

- Used in parametric and geometric constructions involving the hyperbola.
