Relation Between Asymptote Slopes

For:

$$\frac{x^2}{a^2}-\frac{y^2}{b^2}=1$$

the slopes of the asymptotes are:

$$m_1=\frac{b}{a},\quad m_2=-\frac{b}{a}$$

Therefore:

$$m_1m_2=-\frac{b^2}{a^2}$$

Usage

- Used to determine the parameters of a hyperbola from its asymptotes.
