Condition for Two Given Numbers to Be Roots

## Formula

If $$p$$ and $$q$$ are roots of:

$$ax^2+bx+c=0$$

then:

$$p+q=-\frac ba$$

and:

$$pq=\frac ca$$

Therefore:

$$b=-a(p+q)$$

$$c=apq$$

## Usage

- Used to determine unknown coefficients when both roots are specified.
