CAT 2027 Quant Syllabus
The CAT 2027 Quantitative Aptitude (QA) syllabus comprises mathematical subjects that assess the candidates on their problem-solving abilities, numerical aptitude, and concept clarity. CAT 2027 Quant Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme
The official CAT 2027 exam pattern has not been announced yet. Based on current CAT exam trends, the Quantitative Aptitude (QA) section is expected to have 22 questions, a 40-minute time limit, and a maximum score of 66 marks.

The QA section contains MCQs and Type in the Answer (TITA). Three marks are awarded for each correct answer, but if the MCQ is answered incorrectly, one mark is deducted. Incorrect answers to TITA questions will not incur any negative marking.
The time limit for the section is 40 minutes. This time can neither be transferred to VARC nor to DILR. Work on your time management skills and focus on getting your answers correct to handle negative marking.
CAT Quant Topic-Wise Weightage Based on Previous Years
CAT Quant comprises mainly of topics Arithmetic and Algebra. Other topics like Geometry, Number System, and Modern Mathematics also occur in CAT Quant, but their occurrences differ each year according to the CAT slot.
For CAT 2027, focus on Arithmetic and Algebra, while practicing Geometry, Number Systems, and Modern Maths. Solve previous year papers to understand the pattern of questions, and do not consider past weightage as an indicator of future questions. Most Important Quant Topics for CAT 2027
Arithmetic and algebra form the most significant part of quantitative aptitude for CAT 2027, followed by geometry, number system, and modern mathematics. Analysis of previous years' CAT question papers reveals that a combined 70% of questions in quantitative aptitude come from arithmetic and algebra.
Give top priority to arithmetic and algebra, but don't ignore other subjects as well. Solve past years' papers to get an idea of the type of questions asked in CAT.

If you are new to CAT 2027 Quantitative Aptitude preparations, then start your preparations with elementary mathematics concepts and then take up CAT-level questions. Arithmetic should be the first topic, then algebra, geometry, number system, and modern mathematics. Arithmetic and algebra topics carry more weight as per previous CAT question papers.
Follow these steps to build your preparation:
- Revise basic mathematics: Start with fractions, percentages, ratios, equations, squares, and multiplication tables to improve calculation skills.

- Solve previous-year questions: Practise topic-wise CAT questions to understand how concepts are tested in the exam.
- Analyse mistakes: Identify calculation errors and weak concepts, revise them, and solve similar questions again.

Tip: If you are weak in Mathematics, then take sufficient time to improve your basics rather than moving ahead to the level of CAT questions.
