Let the number of remaining innings be 'T' 15, T, 15 Average score for the first 15 innings is 17 Average score for the last 15 innings is 25 Let the average score of T innings be 'X' It is given, XT+15(25)/15+T = A + 2 ....... (1) 15(17)+XT/15+T = A - 2 ....... (2) Equating A in both the equations, we get 15(17) + XT + 30 + 2T = XT + 15(25) - 30 - 2T 4T = 60 T = 15 Total number of innings = 15+15+15 = 45 Hope this helps!

Is the right time to start cat preparation or in my case should i shift from my banking preparation to cat.

Hi Sambhav Jha, There is no right time or wrong time to start CAT preparation. It is better to start now than never. Whenever you start preparation, you will always get better than before, which increases your score to some extent. Start your preparation, give 4-5 hours daily, build a strategy and follow it. At my current preparation level, I am at VARC section with 12-13 questions with 70% accuracy, in QA 7-8 questions with 100% accuracy and in LR-DI one set with 100% accuracy. What should be my next course of steps.

is there enough time left to start lrdi from scratch. i m doing the same in varc, in quants i m able to tackle the arithmetic part about 6-7 questions with 5 questions right. But lrdi sucks...

I am at the same preparation level. I think we can work on LRDI more. Because for VARC i guess getting 12-13 questions absolutely correct will fetch 98+? For that we need to attempt about 18-19 questions with 70% accuracy. I am currently working on giving mocks for LRDI and various quant questions to help me solve questions quicker

can anyone tell me how to select lrdi sets in exam? i always select wrong sets and after completing the exam i realize that the set i have left is easy

Have a look at all the sets in the exam. Select the one which you feel is your strong area, for example charts, arrangements etc. Bookmark that question and write down your order of attempt on the rough sheet. Say for instance you look at a test and feel like you need to attempt sets starting from Q1 (4 questions), then Q5 (6 questions), Q12, (4 questions) and lastly Q17 (6 questions) in this order then just write Q1, Q5, Q6 and Q17 is ascending order of attempt on your rough sheet. Spend about 2-3 mins before starting any set to look at the entire section.
