Question 53

The radius of in-circle of a triangle is 4 cm and the perimeterof the triangle is 20 cm. What is the area of the triangle?

Solution

$$\text{Radius of incircle} = \dfrac{\text{Area of the triangle}}{\text{Half of perimeter}}$$

Let the area of the triangle be A sq.cm
Given, Radius of incircle = 4 cm
Perimeter of the triangle = 20 cm
Then, Half of perimeter = 10 cm
$$4 = \dfrac{A}{10}$$

=> $$A = 40 cm^2$$
