A sold an article to B at a gain of 5% and B sold it to C at a gain of 10%.If C paid ₹ 462, what did it cost A?
Let the Cost Price of A be Rs.100x
Selling Price of A = Cost Price of B = 105% of Rs.100x = Rs.105x
Selling Price of B = Cost Price of C = 110% of Rs.105x = Rs.115.5x
Given, Cost Price of C = Rs.462
115.5x = 462
=> x = 4
Therefore, Cost Price of A = Rs.100x = Rs.100*4 = Rs.400.
