NMIMS Mumbai Admission Eligibility Criteria

MBA Core

The eligibility criteria for the MBA Courses offered at NMIMS Mumbai is mentioned below:

  • Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate form a recognized university
  • Final year students of Bachelor's Degree are also eligible to apply for the MBA programs
  • A work experience of 2 years is preferred, but it is not compulsory

MBA - Business Analytics

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Commerce or Economics with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate from a recognized university
  • Mathematics/Statistics as a compulsory subject
  • A work experience of 2 years is preferred, but it is not compulsory
  • Final year students of Bachelor's Degree are also eligible to apply for the MBA programs

MBA - Digital Transformation

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Any stream) / MCA/ B.Sc. (IT) / B.Sc. (Computer Science) / B.Sc. (Electronics) / B.Sc. (Physics) / B.Sc. (Math) / Any other graduate degree with Mathematics as a compulsory subject
  • The minimum pass marks of 50% in aggregate
  • A work experience of 2 years is preferred, but it is not compulsory
  • Final year students of Bachelor's Degree are also eligible to apply for the MBA programs

MBA Pharmaceutical Management

  • Bachelor's or Masters Degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Medical Technology & Biotechnology, and MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, Food Nutrition and Dietetics, Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology, Pharmaceutical and Fine Chemicals Technology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, B.Tech. Bio-Tech. / Bio Medical or B.E. Bio-Tech. / Bio-Medical from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate.
  • Candidates working in Pharmaceutical Companies or with work experience
    in the healthcare sector can also apply subject to meeting the above
    qualification criteria.
  • A work experience of 2 years is preferred, but it is not compulsory
  • Final year students of Bachelor's Degree are also eligible to apply for the MBA programs

NMIMS Mumbai Admission Process

Register on NMAT by GMAC

Registration at NMIMS is a two-step process. The first step is to register online.

  • Go to www.nmat.org and pay the registration fee to finish the procedure. It is important to keep in mind your registration number for NMAT by GMAC. To finish the NMIMS application, you must have the registration number.

Register at NMIMS

  • Step two is to enter your NMAT by GMAC registration number when you visit www.nmims.edu. Then finish the application procedure. Without the registration number, it is impossible to complete the NMIMS application form.
  • Pay the registration fees (as applicable) to finish the application procedure. There is no refund for the registration money. A single registration is required from candidates; subsequent selection will be based on the primary application scores.

To apply for any NMIMS programme, you must register with NMIMS prior to the day of your scheduled test. For instance, if the NMAT by GMAC exam is set for October 9, 2023, applicants must register by October 8, 2023, at the latest.

Important Things to Keep in Mind

  • The final programme preference will be determined following the shortlisting. Indicate your option in the NMIMS Registration form.
  • You must indicate five programmes at least as your preference on the registration form. The application form is created as a PDF on the dashboard upon payment.
  • Don't forget to verify this PDF. The candidate's preference listed on the online registration form is purely informative.
  • After shortlisting, preference entries will be taken into consideration for the merit list. It is recommended that candidates double-check the information they give in the online registration application form both before applying and throughout the registration process, since they will not be able to make any changes once the application has been submitted.

Points to Remember

  • Candidates with two or more years of post-qualification work experience will be preferred for all the Full Time
    programs.
  • At the time of admission, a candidate has to produce semester-wise / trimester-wise / consolidated (only if University / Institute does not issue individual mark sheets) mark sheets of all college years from which they graduated. Attestation by the Principal with an official seal is mandatory in case of internet copies of mark sheets.
  • The candidates, who have passed or have appeared for graduation examination from a University where Grade Point Average is given, must produce the equivalent percentage for the GPA/CGPA obtained in writing from the University concerned.

Selection Process

The final selection list is prepared based on the following 5 parameters:

  1. NMAT by GMACâ„¢ scores
  2. Written Analytical Test (WAT)
  3. Psychometric Test
  4. Personal Interview
  5. Work Experience
  6. Academic Marks

The final selection list will be declared based on the weighted average score you get in these parameters.

Stage 1

NMAT by GMACâ„¢ test is a mandatory test for applying to the NMIMS University's MBA programmes. This is the first stage to filter candidates for the selection process. For more information about the test, you can visit the official website www.nmat.org. The score of the NMAT by GMACâ„¢ Test for all the NMIMS applicants will be submitted by GMAC electronically to NMIMS.

Stage 2

NMIMS will consider both your sectional and total NMAT scores for shortlisting. Make sure that you've applied to NMIMS programs; otherwise, your scores won't be considered.

If you are shortlisted, the next step is to receive your call letter. This crucial document will be available on your candidate dashboard. Don't forget to check your candidate dashboard regularly for updates. Call letters will not be sent via email or post.

  • 12th Marksheet & Passing Certificate
  • Degree Marksheet (for 1,2,3,4 ……… years), separately for each semester/ trimester. Only if separate mark sheets are not issued by the University / Institute consolidated mark sheets will be accepted.

  • Post Graduate Degree Marksheet, wherever applicable

  • AIU Certificate (University Equivalence) is mandatory for those candidates who have completed their graduation from Overseas Universities.

  • Eligibility Certificate (If required)
  • Work Experience Certificate from their previous employers, the latest salary slip from their current employer, and the bank statement showing the deposit of their salary. Suppose, the candidate has work experience in self-employment or a family business where they do not receive compensation. In that case, they must submit the
    company's registration paper, WAT registration, and proof of income tax filing.
