Upcoming Important MBA Entrance Exams 2023-2024

For admission to the top MBA colleges in the academic year 2024-25 across the country, there are exams that students should take advantage of. Some of the famous institutions offering MBA courses are IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, ISB, FMS, SP Jain, SIBM Pune, NMIMS Mumbai, JBIMS, XLRI Jamshedpur, MICA Ahmedabad, TISS Mumbai, etc. So, to get into these top tier 1 colleges, aspirants must appear for various entrance exams. Each entrance exam will have different eligibility criteria for securing admission, so students must be aware of the process and plan accordingly.

NOTE

• It is important to note that the exams of TISS 2024 have been cancelled and replaced by CUET PG 2024.The IIFT exam has also been cancelled, and admission to IIFT is made based on the scores of the CAT.

CAT 2023

• Of all the exams, this is the most followed-up exam as admissions to top IIMs, top IITs, and Other top B-schools like FMS, SP Jain also considers this exam score for MBA admission.
• This exam is usually conducted in the last week of November every year. CAT is going to be conducted on 26th November this year.
• It has three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.
• The exam is conducted for 120 minutes, and each section is for 40 minutes.

 XAT 2024

• This is another popular exam conducted every year on the 1st Sunday of January. This year, XAT will be conducted on January 7th, 2024.
• The duration of XAT is 3 hr 30 minutes.
• XAT has three sections: Verbal and Logical Ability, Data Interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude, and Decision Making. XAT is known for its Decision-Making section.
• The most popular college under XAT is XLRI Jamshedpur. The college is known for its HR program, a flagship course offered by XLRI. The institute offers a PGDM (HR) program.

 SNAP 2023

• Symbiosis National Aptitude Test is popularly known for SIBM Pune and SCMHRD Pune colleges. SIBM, Pune, is a top-rated, reputed college known for its high placement record and course structure.
• SNAP is conducted across December every year. SNAP is conducted thrice. The best score among the three is considered. Normalisation used to be in play last year, and Symbiosis has decided to stop considering normalisation from this year on.
• The exam is conducted for 1 hour. It has three sections: General English, Quantitative – Analytical and Logical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency.

 NMAT 2023

• NMAT is an MBA exam conducted by NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies) every year.
• This exam allows you to enter NMIMS Mumbai, known for its flagship MBA course. NMIMS Mumbai is also known for its high placement record, and NMIMS was ranked 21st by NIRF this year.
• The NMAT is an adaptive test of Language Skills, Quantitative Skills and Logical Reasoning.
• There is no negative marking for each wrong answer. Also, students can choose to take tests from home.

MAHCET 2024

• This is a state exam conducted by Maharashtra State Government every year. The main advantage of this exam is primarily for aspirants who are natives of Maharashtra state. Students can get into decent colleges such as JBIMS, Sydenham, etc.
• There are five sections: Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension. This exam is conducted for 2.5 hours. Also, there is no negative marking.

SRCC GBO 2024

• Shri Ram College Of Commerce, Delhi University, conducts this exam.
• SRCC is very popular among all the constituent colleges of Delhi University. SRCC GBO Course is known for its branding and decent placement. ROI is decent as this comes under constituent colleges of Delhi.
• This exam lasts 2 hours, with +4 for the correct and -1 for the incorrect option. It has sections such as English Comprehension and Language Ability, Logical Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation.
• Also, there is no sectional limitation for any exam. You can move from one portion to another without any limitation.

 MICAT 2023-2024

• This exam is known for entry into MICA College, Ahmedabad, known for its popular marketing MBA.
• The exam is conducted twice yearly, and the best among the two is considered for final selection.
• Question types asked in MICAT are very different compared to all other MBA exams. They include three sections in which Psychometric Type of Questions are asked in Section 1—descriptive Test under Section 2. Section 3 asks Verbal Ability, QA & DA, General Awareness, and Divergent-Convergent Reasoning questions.

CUET PG 2024

• Candidates aspiring for admission to TISS Mumbai – MA in HRM & LR & ODCL have to take the CUET PG exam from this year onwards as CUET PG has replaced TISSNET.
• The exam includes two parts in which the first part related to questions on Comprehension or Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Analytical Skills are asked. These have about 25 questions.
• The second part includes Domain Specific Questions, in which about 75 questions are asked.
