Number of pieces
= Volume of original piece/Volume of each cut piece
= $$\frac{\left(8\cdot6\cdot5\right)}{\frac{5}{4}\cdot\frac{3}{8}\cdot\frac{1}{4}}$$
= $$8\cdot2\cdot4\cdot8\cdot4$$
= $$2^{11}$$
