If the side of a square is increased by 20%, then what will be the percentage increase in its perimeter?
Let side of square = $$s=10$$ cm
=> Perimeter = $$P=4\times10=40$$ cm
After increase of 20%, new side = $$s'=10+(\frac{20}{100}\times10)=12$$ cm
=> New perimeter = $$P'=4\times12=48$$ cm
$$\therefore$$ Increase in perimeter = $$\frac{(48-40)}{40}\times100$$
= $$8\times2.5=20\%$$
