If $$13x^2 = 17^2 - 9^2$$, find the value of x?

Solution

Expression : $$13x^2 = 17^2 - 9^2$$

=> $$13 x^2 = (17 - 9) (17 + 9)$$

=> $$13 x^2 = 8 \times 26$$

=> $$x^2 = 8 \times 2 = 16$$

=> $$x = \sqrt{16} = 4$$
