40 men took a dip in a pool 30 m long and 25 m broad. If the average water displaced by a man is 5 m3, then what will be the rise (in cm) in level of the pool?
Let the rise in the pool = height of the pool = $$h$$ m
Water displaced by 40 men = $$40\times5=200$$ $$m^3$$
Thus, volume of pool = Volume of water displaced
=> $$30\times25\times h=200$$
=> $$h=\frac{20}{75}=\frac{4}{15}$$ m
=> $$h=\frac{4}{15}\times100$$ cm
=> $$h=26.67$$ cm
