In a Δ ABC, DE || BC. D and E lie on AB and AC respectively. If AB = 7 cm and BD = 3cm, then find BC:DE

Solution

Given : AB = 7 cm and BD = 3cm

To find : BC : DE = ?

Solution : DE is parallel to BC

=> $$\frac{BC}{DE} = \frac{AB}{AD}$$

=> $$\frac{BC}{DE} = \frac{7}{4}$$

Dividing both numerator and denominator by '2'

=> $$\frac{BC}{DE} = \frac{3.5}{2}$$

=> Ans - (C)
