Three cubes each of sides 7 cm are joined end to end. Find the surface area of the resulting solid.
Solution
When the three cubes are joined, a cuboid will be formed of length = $$l=21$$ cm, $$b=7$$ cm and $$h=7$$ cm
Total surface area = $$2(lb+bh+hl)$$
= $$2\times[(21\times7)+(7\times7)+(7\times21)]$$
= $$2\times(147+49+147)$$
= $$2\times343=686$$ $$cm^2$$
=> Ans - (A)
