A shopekeeper earns 25% profit, if he sells an article at 10% discount on the marked price ₹2,500. Find his profit.
Given,
Marked Price = ₹2,500
Discount = 10 %
Selling Price = MP - 10% of MP
= $$2500-\frac{10}{100}\times\ 2500=₹2250$$...........(i)
On this selling price, Shopkeeper is earning 25 % profit.
As we know,
Selling price = Cost price + profit
Now the cost price be 100 units.
Profit is 25 % of cost price = 25 units
Selling price = 125 units.............(ii)
Equating (i) and (ii) , we get
125 units = 2250
Cost Price = $$100\ units\ =\ \frac{2250}{125}\times\ 100=₹1800$$
Profit = SP - CP = 2250 - 1800 = ₹450
Hence, Option A is correct.
