It took Ramya 15 minutes more than the usual time to travel the distance from her home to office today. If her speed today was 2/3rd of her usual speed, what is the usual time it takes for her to travel the same distance?
Solution
Let usual speed be $$3x$$ m/min and speed today = $$2x$$ m/min
Let usual time taken be $$t$$ minutes, and time taken today = $$(t+15)$$ minutes
Since, speed is inversely proportional to time, => $$\frac{3x}{2x}=\frac{t+15}{t}$$
=> $$3t=2t+30$$
=> $$t=30$$ minutes
=> Ans - (D)
