Question 42

At what point does the line 2x + 5y = -6 cuts the X-axis?

Solution

Let the line 2x + 5y = -6 cuts the X-axis at point A(x,0)

Substituting coordinates of A in the equation :

=> $$2(x)+5(0)=-6$$

=> $$x=\frac{-6}{2}=-3$$

$$\therefore$$ The line 2x + 5y = -6 cuts the X-axis at (-3,0)

=> Ans - (C)
