A shopkeeper by selling 8 iphones, earns a proﬁt equal to the selling price of 3 iphones. His proﬁt percentage is

Solution

Let Cost price of 1 iphone = Rs. x

Let Selling price of 1 iphone = Rs. y

Profit of 8 iphones = Rs. 8 (y - x)

According to ques, => $$8(y - x) = 3y$$

=> $$8y - 8x = 3y$$

=> $$8x = 8y - 3y = 5y$$

=> $$\frac{y}{x} = \frac{8}{5}$$

$$\therefore$$ Profit % = $$\frac{y-x}{x} \times 100$$

= $$\frac{3}{5} \times 100 = 60\%$$
