If the lengths of the two parallel sides of a trapezium are 8 cm and 10 cm and the distance between these parallel sides is 6 cm. Find its area $$(in cm^2)$$
Distance between parallel sides = height of trapezium =Â $$6$$ cm
=> Sum of lengths of parallel sides = $$8+10=18$$ cm
=> Area of trapezium = $$\frac{1}{2} \times$$ (sum of parallel sides) $$\times$$ height
= $$\frac{1}{2}\times18\times 6$$
= $$\frac{108}{2}=54$$ $$cm^2$$
