Three times the first of three consecutive odd integers is 3 more than twice the third. What is the third integer?
15
9
11
5
Suppose consecutive odd integers are: (a-2), a, (a+2)
Hence, 3a-6 = 2(a+2) + 3 => a=13
a+2 = 15
The wording 3 times more than twice the third, in the question doesn't it mean the third odd integer is to be doubled and then to be added by 3 to be equal to thrice the first odd integer.
Hi Navya,We have edited the solution, thanks for bringing this to our notice.
For this Question I have taken as the Odd Integers as the x,x+2,X+4 then I got the the Third variable is 9 would it be correct ???
Hhi ChandraEven if you take x, x+2, x+4we have3x = 2(x+4) + 33x = 2x + 11=> x =11=> third term = 11+4 = 15Hope this makes it clear
