XAT Registration 2027 Process is likely to remain the same as the format adopted by XLRI in previous years. The registration portal is likely to be open from 2nd week of July 2026 and close around 3rd/ 4th week of December 2026. Registration is only done online on its official portal xatonline.in by providing details such as name, marks, academic history, uploading pictures and documents, selecting target course, preferences of test city, and making the payment.

How to Fill XAT Application Form 2027?
If you find the registration window you need to follow the given below steps to fill the XAT Application Form 2027 without any hurry and mistake.
Step 1: Register on the Official Portal
Go to xatonline.in and click on the "New Registration" link. Fill in your name, working email ID and active mobile number to get your login. Retain this email id and phone number in your record throughout the admission process as all further communication from XLRI will be sent here.
Step 2: Sign In and Fill Out the Profile
Enter the create login ID and password and log in. Enter the personal details, date of birth, gender, category, nationality, correspondence address as per your identity documents.
Step 3: Provide Your Academic and Work Experience
Mention your Class 10, Class 12 and graduation. Marks /percentage /CGPA, board university, Year of passing etc. Students who are in their final year of graduation can also apply. If you have full time work experience, mention the organisation, designation and period of employment accurately as this information is used to shortlist students at many XAT colleges.
Step 4: Select Test City Preferences
You can choose a maximum of 6 choices of XAT exam city from the drop down list. Choosing a second preference increases your chances of getting a nearer centre in case the first choice gets filled up quickly.
Step 5: Opt for XLRI Programmes
Select from XLRI's three flagship programs
- Business Management (PGDM -BM)
- Human Resource Management (PGDM -HRM)
- General Management Programme (PGDM -GM)
- Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Venture Creation (PGDM-IEV)
- Double Master's Programs (e.g., XLRI-RBS)
[Note: You may select to not choose any of the above XLRI programs in case you only want to use the XAT score for other associated institutes.]
Step 6: Upload Photograph and Signature
Upload a recent passport-size colour Photograph and Scanned signature in the prescribed format of file size (other than JPEG file) and capture size. (e.g., Not less than 10 Kb and not more than 50 Kb). JPEG file format is preferred. Poor quality of uploading photographs/ signatures is the main reason for discrepancies.
Step 7: Preview and Verify the Application
Preview all the sections of the form before final submission. Verify the spelling of your name, date of birth, category and email id before final submission since it is usually only possible to make corrections within a very brief window or not allowed for these fields.
Step 8: Pay the Registration Fee
Visit the payment tab, and make payment through online mode only i.e. net banking, UPI or credit or debit card. For XLRI, demand draft/offline payment is not accepted and XAT registration fee needs to be paid online.
Step 9: Final Submission and Confirmation
You can go for Final Submit once the payment is done. You will not be able to make any changes after final submit so check everything carefully before clicking on this. Download the confirmation page and payment receipt.

Common Mistakes to Avoid While Filling XAT Form
Though many candidates are prepared for their XAT examination, still some lose their time and even opportunities due to silly mistakes committed during the process of registration. These are the most common mistakes that they should avoid while filling the form.
Using a secondary or non-registered email/mobile number: Admit cards, result links, and interview calls are sent to the registered email and phone, so ensure you use an email account/mobile number that you access frequently.
Inconsistent Personal Information: Make sure that you put your name, date of birth, and category exactly as they appear on your Class 10 certificate and other documents; differences will lead to problems in later stages.
Uploading a poor-quality photo or signature: Even a single image that is unclear, showing signs of being processed or resized incorrectly can be grounds for rejection or resubmission.
