How to Prepare for XAT 2027 in 60 Days?
The sixty days split into four phases of unequal length. The first two phases take you through every topic of the XAT Syllabus once, across Decision Making, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation, and General Knowledge. Phase 3 returns to your wrong answers and adds more mocks. Nothing new is started after Day 36, since Phase 4 is kept for revision alone.
Phase | What You Study | Tests |
Phase 1 (Days 1-24) | Arithmetic, algebra, data interpretation; reading comprehension; Decision Making cases | A sectional test each weekend |
Phase 2 (Days 25-36) | Geometry, number system and modern maths; grammar and para jumbles | A full-length mock every week |
Phase 3 (Days 37-48) | Wrong answers from the error log, the notebook of every mistake | A full-length mock every three to four days |
Phase 4 (Days 49-60) | Formula sheet and error log, revision only | Last full-length mock on Day 56 |
XAT 2027 Section-Wise Preparation Strategy
All four sections of XAT 2027 are studied on the same day, each through a daily routine of its own that runs for the full sixty days. Every routine opens with the topic that usually brings the most questions in its section. Your first hours of study therefore go where most of the marks are.
Decision Making
Decision Making has 21 questions. Usually 9 to 12 are business cases; ethical and people cases make up the rest. From Day 1, two cases a day go into this routine, each with a line in your notebook on the option you picked and why. Read back later, those lines show which kinds of case you keep missing.
Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning
Out of 26 questions in Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning, somewhere between 12 and 15 are usually reading comprehension, more than any other topic. The routine therefore starts on Day 1 with a long passage each day, answered against a timer. Grammar, para jumbles and vocabulary join only in Phase 2 (in sets of ten questions).
Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation
The 28 questions in Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation usually include 8 to 10 on arithmetic and 6 to 8 on data interpretation. Those two topics, along with algebra, take up Phase 1. Geometry, number system and modern maths are kept for Phase 2. Formulas go into a notebook from Day 1, and that notebook makes the final revision faster.
General Knowledge
The 20 General Knowledge questions come in a separate 10-minute part, with 8 on static topics and 12 on current affairs. Twenty minutes of current affairs and one static topic each day cover both kinds of question. A wrong answer costs nothing here, so you attempt all 20 in every mock.

XAT 60-Day Study Timetable for Daily Preparation
The same daily timetable runs all 60 days. Only the topics in each block change, phase by phase. A weekday has three study blocks that fit around college or work. The weekend has the week's test, a review of that test, and revision of the weak topics it shows.
Time of Day | Weekday Focus | Weekend Focus |
Morning | Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation set, with the error log (30-40 min) | A sectional test until Day 24, a full-length mock from Day 25 (60-180 min) |
Evening | Practice set on the day's section (60-90 min) | Test review, with every wrong answer logged (60-90 min) |
Night | Current affairs and one static General Knowledge topic, then one reading passage or Decision Making case (40-50 min) | Weak topics from the test revised (45-60 min) |
Only one weekend day carries the week's test. The other follows the weekday pattern with longer blocks.
Evening practice sets take the three main sections in turn, one section a day.
Two mocks land on weekdays, on Day 43 and Day 56, and each takes over that day's evening and night blocks.
How Many XAT Mock Tests Should You Take in 60 Days?
At least take seven full-length XAT mock tests and three sectional tests in the 60 days. Each full-length mock follows the real paper's timing, with 170 minutes for the 75 Part 1 questions from the three main sections and a separate 10 minutes for General Knowledge. The three sectional tests come first, one on each of the first three weekends.
Phase | Tests | Days |
Phase 1 | Three sectional tests | Days 5, 12, 19 |
Phase 2 | Two full-length mocks | Days 26, 33 |
Phase 3 | Three full-length mocks | Days 40, 43, 47 |
Phase 4 | Two full-length mocks | Days 53, 56 |
Every mock is a rehearsal of the XAT marking rule. Eight Part 1 questions can be left blank without penalty. Past that point a blank costs 0.10 marks, and a wrong answer 0.25 marks.
You analyze XAT mocks after each test by logging every wrong answer as a concept gap, a careless read or a timing issue.
The final four days after the last mock belong to the formula sheet, the error log and rest.

Is 60 Days Enough to Crack XAT 2027?
Yes, with a fixed plan from Day 1, 60 days is enough to crack XAT 2027. Only Part 1 counts towards the XAT percentile. Its 75 questions get 170 of the 180 minutes, at 1 mark per right answer.
- The plan has room for one full round of every Part 1 topic. What the full-length mocks add after that is a clear count of how many questions to attempt per section.
- General Knowledge stays outside the percentile. It gets a short daily slot, and the three Part 1 sections get the bulk of the hours.
- With the daily timetable kept and every mock sat on its day, yes, 60 days is enough to crack XAT 2027.
