CSAB Round 2 Physical Reporting Process
Candidates must complete CSAB Round 2 physical reporting at their final allotted institute. There is no common CSAB reporting centre for this admission step. The institute’s website provides the actual date, time, venue, fee details and specific joining instructions.
Candidates should complete the following steps for CSAB allotted-institute reporting:
- Check the final Round II allotment and seat-confirmation status on the CSAB portal.
- Complete Round II online reporting within the applicable deadline, if required.
- Respond to any pending query raised by the Document Verifying Officer.
- Check the allotted institute’s official website for its admission and reporting notice.
- Arrange the original eligibility documents and other documents specified by the institute.
- Report physically at the allotted institute within its notified reporting schedule.
- Complete original-document verification and other institute-level admission formalities.
- Pay the applicable balance institute fee according to the institute’s instructions.
CSAB confirms a seat online only after the required verification conditions are met. Final admission still depends on the physical verification of valid original documents. Candidates must also complete the applicable balance institute fee payment.
Individual institutes may prescribe additional joining requirements. These can include institute registration, hostel formalities, medical requirements or admission forms. Candidates should treat such requirements as institute-specific unless CSAB lists them as common requirements.
The PwD physical verification centres verify the applicable PwD status. General physical joining takes place at the final allotted institute.
Note: Candidates should follow the allotted institute’s official reporting notice wherever it provides more specific admission instructions. The CSAB schedule directs candidates to institute websites for actual physical reporting details.
Fees to Pay at the Allotted Institute
There is no common CSAB balance institute fee for every NIT, IIIT or GFTI. The amount depends on the allotted institute and its fee structure. Category-based fee rules may also affect the final amount. Candidates should check the institute’s admission notice before physical reporting.
Candidates may also have paid IAF-II before reaching the institute. IAF-II is ₹35,000 for GEN, GEN-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates. It is ₹16,000 for SC, ST and PwD candidates. Eligible Type-6 candidates do not have to pay IAF-II again after paying the PAF through JoSAA 2026.
CSAB physical reporting fees and institute-level payments must not be treated as the same charge. CSAB requires confirmed candidates to complete the applicable balance institute fee payment. Failure to make this payment may lead to cancellation of the allotment. If this happens, no refund will be admissible as per the official CSAB 2026 Information Manual.
| Fee | Paid To |
|---|---|
| IAF-II | CSAB seat-allocation portal |
| Balance institute fee | Allotted institute |
| Hostel or mess fee | Allotted institute |
| Other admission charges | Allotted institute |

Documents Required for CSAB Physical Reporting 2026
Candidates should carry their valid eligibility documents for physical verification at the allotted institute. The institute checks these documents again during admission. Online verification during CSAB does not replace physical verification at the final institute.
The official CSAB document list provides the base set of documents for admission to the NIT+ System. Candidates should also check their institute’s reporting notice before travelling.
OBC-NCL and GEN-EWS certificates must have an issue date on or after April 1, 2026. CSAB also specifies additional certificate conditions for certain states. Candidates should check these conditions wherever applicable.
The allotted institute may ask for additional documents during CSAB physical reporting 2026. These may include institute forms, photographs, hostel documents or other admission records. Such requirements are institute-specific and do not automatically apply to every candidate.
Candidates with documents in a language other than English or Hindi also need a certified English or Hindi translation. A competent authority must certify the translated version.
Important: Candidates should carry original documents wherever the allotted institute requires them. The institute can cancel admission if physical verification finds invalid eligibility documents.

What Happens If You Miss Physical Reporting?
Missing CSAB physical reporting can affect the allotted seat and refund eligibility. Candidates with confirmed seats must physically join their allotted institutes after CSAB Special Round II. CSAB provides no refund to candidates who fail to join the allotted institute.
CSAB makes online seat confirmation subject to physical certificate verification and payment of the applicable balance institute fee. CSAB does not issue a refund in cases covered by its Round II no-refund rule. For such candidates, any subsequent refund is governed by the rules of the participating or admitting institute.
Important: Candidates facing an exceptional reporting problem should contact the allotted institute immediately.
| Situation | Consequence | What the Candidate Should Do |
|---|---|---|
| Candidate does not physically join the institute | CSAB provides no refund after Round II non-joining. | Contact the allotted institute immediately. |
