SNAP syllabus is very different from other management entrance tests. It is a speed-based MBA entrance exam and thus, it is imperative to understand the SNAP syllabus in-depth and prepare thoroughly.
This section's questions are focused on significant linguistic principles and mostly address verbal aptitude, reading comprehension, and verbal reasoning. By making reading newspapers, books, and magazines a habit, candidates can increase their reading speed, vocabulary, and language proficiency.
The areas mentioned below are certain "blocks" and the syllabus is very similar to other management entrance tests. The difference is that as compared to other exams, the SNAP will be easier and the questions in this area will be much easier as compared to other exams like CAT and XAT. However, because of the time limit, one needs to practice a lot to build great speed in this area.
Analytical and interpersonal thinking are the main topics of the SNAP 2024 Logical thinking part, which calls for preparation and familiarity with the question formats.
The problem in sections related to logical reasoning is unfamiliarity. As students, we have been familiar to Math and English all our lives and solve problems on the same in some way, shape or form. However, in Logical Reasoning, practice is key. Unless someone invests a lot of time and energy, LR is a very tough area to master.
The 60 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) on the SNAP exam are divided into three categories: General English, Quantitative Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning.
The exam lasts for 60 minutes, with no time limit for individual sections. The Computer Based Test (CBT) is used to administer the SNAP.
In SNAP 2024, candidates are allowed three chances. For admission to SIU, the best three scores will be taken into account.
Duration | Questions | Sections | Marking Scheme |
60 minutes | 60 | General English Quantitative-Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency Analytical & Logical Reasoning | +1 for correct -0.25 i for incorrect |
The 60-minute SNAP exam is simple to complete. There is no requirement to complete every question or a time limit for each part.

CAT and SNAP are two very different management entrance exams. CAT serves as the gold standard of management exams, if you prepare for CAT, you automatically prepare for a wide range of management exams.
By studying from CAT books, you can become familiar with the fundamental ideas of the Verbal Ability, Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Aptitude courses covered in the SNAP syllabus. You can study the concepts, formulas, and theorems by consulting the CAT books, as the syllabus for these topics is the same for both tests. Since CAT is a more difficult exam than SNAP, practising CAT problems for conceptual clarity will also naturally prepare you for SNAP.
But, as SNAP questions differ from CAT questions in nature, you must consult books written specifically for SNAP preparation if you want to prepare for the test. This is because SNAP Syllabus has some additional topics as compared to CAT.
This section of SNAP exam is divided into two parts- Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability. During the exam preparation phase, it is imperative to build your vocabulary and grammar. This can be done by laying special emphasis on certain sentences while reading and ensuring you understand at least 9 out of 10 words in a sentence.
The problem with English or any other language is that it is very tough to improve your skills in a language. Unlike Math, which is easier to improve. Thus, fixing English Grammar is a key skill that must be mastered and thoroughly practiced.
Other areas are easier to improve upon. These can be taken care of by continuous practice. You will get a lot of practice with SNAP sample papers and mock test series, which will help you with parajumbles and sentence correction.
Sufficient practice and the ability to select the appropriate question are the keys to success in this part. Because the questions will be logical in nature, you will need to hone your "eye for detail." Practise answering as many different types of questions as you can. This area has the most questions, thus you should pay close attention to it.
This is easier to improve upon. We say this because if practiced with enough diligence, this area can be taken care of. However, if you are preparing for CAT, you are prepared for 95% of the questions in SNAP. And most likely, these questions will be much easier than the one you have practiced.
