When it comes to selecting candidates at IIM Trichy, they follow two main phases like other IIMs.

Stage 1: Shortlisting Of Candidates For Personal Interview(PI)

In the first phase, candidates are shortlisted based on their performance in the CAT entrance test. Those who make it through this phase move on to the second phase, which involves a personal interview (PI). Now, let’s take a look at the cut-off marks required during the initial phase of the selection process. It’s important to note that meeting the cut-off percentile in CAT is necessary, but it doesn’t guarantee being shortlisted.

Personal Interview(PI) Process

As per the decision made by the CAP Committee, the Written Ability Test (WAT) process is not included in the CAP Process. Additionally, the personal interview (PI) will be conducted online. The specific date for the PI will be communicated by IIM Udaipur, the coordinating institute for the CAP 2023-25 batch, on behalf of all the nine participating IIMs.

IIM Trichy Selection Parameters With Their Weightage

Once the personal interview process is finished for all the shortlisted candidates in stage 1, a composite score will be calculated based on their performance in the personal interview and other relevant parameters. These parameters and their corresponding weightages, including the academic weightage, are used to determine the composite score of the candidates. The table below shows the parameters and weightages used to calculate the composite score, which will be used to create the final merit list for admissions.

Weightage For Under Graduation

To assess performance, the percentage marks obtained will be multiplied by the weightage assigned to the respective discipline. The resulting score will be considered in the overall evaluation, accounting for 5% of the total. The calculation for the undergraduate (UG) performance score is as follows: UG performance score = (percentage score at UG * discipline weightage) * 0.05.

In order to promote diversity within the batch, varying weightages will be assigned to different disciplines, as illustrated below:

  • Engineering / Technology: 0.7
  • Arts / Science (including Pharmacy) / Commerce / Economics / Management / other disciplines: 1.0

IIM Trichy MBA Fee Structure (2023-25)

The cost for the PGPM Programme of the 2023-25 batch will be Rs.19.5 Lakh (excluding the Caution Deposit and Mess Advance).

IIM Trichy Final Placement Report 2023

IIM Trichy had an outstanding placement season, with 99% of the batch being placed by December. For the PGPM program, the highest and average CTC (Compensation to Total Cost) was recorded at 41.61 LPA and 20.55 LPA, respectively, this year. Additionally, there was a remarkable 49% increase in the number of Pre-Placement Offers (PPOs) extended to students, highlighting their exceptional capabilities at IIM Tiruchirappalli.
